About Us

Fellside Singers are a 35-strong group that meet weekly to reap the benefits of community and connection through a blooming good sing. We perform locally with a repertoire of folk, traditional & contemporary music that’s fun to sing and life affirming to hear. Everything we do is acappella, so no instruments apart from our voices in harmony. Cheerful leadership is given by Rachael Wadey.

We have a small team who share in organising the group. We meet on Thursday nights at the Fellside Centre in Kendal and parking in top Booth’s car park is the nearest spot. We begin punctually at 7.30pm and continue until 9.30pm with a 15 min break in the middle.

We strive to be as good as we possibly can and this involves extra work in between sessions, to learn words and parts. We access song recordings from a secure online resource and songs are taught by ear rather than with musical notation.

Our sessions are arranged loosely around school terms with a summer break. We welcome new singers once a year and auditions are held in July/August ready for the new autumn term. If you would like to audition then contact us fellsidesingers@gmail.com
