Live on the radio
A month or so we got a request, as part of BBC local music day would we like to sing live on BBC Cumbria. Of course we would! But then there were the details...
It was during half term, some of the choir were away, including Rachael our musical director...
We were to be on the breakfast show, live at 8am...
We would be singing at Pooley Bridge...
11 of us managed the early start and we sung live on BBC Radio Cumbria, we also made it onto the BBC Music Day highlights, you can see us here we are at 1:07.

Supporting A Fistful of Spookies
In February the fabulous group of singers A Fistful of Spookies played Kendal Town Hall and we performed a 30 minute set in support.
We performed a selection of our favourites. Here are a few to give you a taste. Forgive the traffic noise on the recording!

Live with the Henry Girls
As fans of the Fellside Singers may know we sang the Henry Girls song, Here Beside Me at Annie and Ed's wedding. An arrangement they wrote specially for us.
Well last month they contacted us to say that they had a gig in Carlisle and would we like to join them on stage to perform the song with them, of course we would!
After a quick pre-gig run through with them, on cue we rose from the audience and joined them on stage much to surprise of the rest the crowd.
Many thanks to Karen, Lorna and Joleen.

Friends and Family
We held a friends and family gathering for our last session of the term. Partners, children and all came to listen to an informal performance of a few favourites from our repertoire. A communal bring and share meal with ample Pimms added to the party. Here are few of the highlights...

Wedding Celebrations
Choirs are often called upon to perform at weddings but this one was even more special as Annie and Ed met each other whilst singing in our choir! There was a third connection as Paul, their chosen celebrant is also a member!
We were honoured to sing during the ceremony and then entertained every one with some of the happy couple's favourites in the evening.
As well as their chosen songs we surprised them with a new and wholly appropriate song. One of our members had heard the Henry Girls performing Here Beside Me and thought that the lyrics were very moving. So we asked the Henry Girls if they would allow us to perform their song, not only did they say yes they offered to record a special 3 part a cappella version, which they did in their dressing room whilst on tour in Germany.

Growing Well harvest celebrations
We had a jolly time on Friday helping the good folk at Growing Well celebrate their harvest. The volunteers, staff and supporters of Growing Well were joined by the Amblesingers, Pandora's Handbag and ourselves for an evening of shared singing and food. All three singing groups have members that work with Growing Well and it was a pleasure to be part of recognising the difference that they have made to the lives of many.
